Synopsis

A forensic examination of the information recorded in the Gospels regarding Jesus’ birth to establish when Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born.

‘Jesus’ Birth’ not only establishes when Jesus was born, but sets the existence of God’s Son on earth in history using both Roman and Jewish historical records. This book also examines and the ‘missing years’ between his birth and his baptism and what that means to us today. In this book you will discover:

  • The exact year in which Jesus was born
  • The age difference between Jesus and John the Baptist
  • How long baby Jesus spent in Egypt
  • When Jesus visited the temple in Jerusalem as a child
  • What Jesus did in the years between his birth and his baptism
  • When Jesus’ public ministry began

The Chronology of Jesus’ Life Part 4

‘Jesus’ Birth’ is Part 4 of the Chronology of Jesus’ Life Series. It is the final part of this four part series. ‘The Jesus Diary’ is Part 1 of the series and gives the most comprehensive chronology of the events of Jesus’ life ever written. Part 2 of the series is, ’24 – Jesus’ Final Hours’, which gives an hour-by-hour breakdown of his final day as a human on Earth. And ’40 Days of Jesus’ Resurrection Appearances’ is Part 3 of the Chronology of Jesus’ Life series, which gives a day-by-day breakdown of his forty days of appearances.

Methodology

In my first book, The Jesus Diary1 I examined and established a chronology for every event in the life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. One of the areas of his life that I spent most time researching was Jesus’ birth.

The main information about his birth is recorded in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. However, other sources outside of the Bible: ancient Roman and Jewish historians; Jewish Rabbis; and other early writers did record Jesus’ death on a cross in Israel during the reign of Roman Emperor Tiberius whilst Pontius Pilate was procurator in Judea. The reason they wrote about Jesus was because the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire was so expansive and had caused such consternation to its leaders. When these writers investigated where all the Christians in the Empire were coming from they traced it back to one man, Jesus of Nazareth who went around preaching in some far flung corner of the Empire. The evidence recorded in these historical writings outside of the Bible needs to be examined to see if it establishes the existence of Jesus of Nazareth as a figure in history. If these writers have recorded events in Jesus’ life and death as a historical fact then his birth must have been a fact of history as well.

From the historical information recorded in the Gospels regarding Jesus’ baptism and the start of his ministry the writer was able to combine it with great numeracy skills to establish beyond doubt the exact year that Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born. Join John on this informative and revealing journey and it will transform your opinions about not only Jesus’ birth date, but also about his existence and his deity.
